Arrivederci Milano

We woke bright and early this morning knowing that we had a good couple of hours drive ahead of us to Slovenia.  Mike use to work with a guy called Dario at the ECB in Frankfurt about 5 years ago who moved back to Milan with his wife.  We met him for a quick breakfast and good old Italian espresso to send us on our way.

When Dario heard that we hadn't been into the centre of Milan yet and probably wouldn't get the time, he ever so kindly offered to drive us into the centre while we follow him on route to Slovenia (queue Jessica leaving the multi story car park and forgetting her laptop was still on top of the car....thank you Mac for making super tough laptops!)
We said our goodbyes to Dario and made our way around the Sforza castle and onwards to the Duomo Di Milano which was pretty spectacular.

The weather was insane, around 35 degrees and so humid that we had to duck into the nearest Gelateria to cool down. We were there for a good 10 minuets trying to choose what to have.

I'm glad we were able to make it into the centre of Milan.  I was disappointed that we would have left in the morning without being able to see it.  However mission accomplished and now onto Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Ciao bella x
